Everyone knows that they need to face their fears to become their best version. Easy to say when you can consciously identify them like the fear of heights, fear of tarantula, fear of flying, etc. But the truth is that your biggest fears blocking you are hidden in your subconscious. For example, the fear of abandon from your romantic relationship which that fear is most likely coming from an abandoned situation of your parents or friends when you were less than 7 years old. Another common example is the fear of vulnerability from not looking like a failure being afraid of what others think of you which might be coming from your cultural conditioning.
To find those subconscious hidden fears you have no choice to go deep within. Analyze your beliefs, your conditioning, your patterns of negative emotions you always go back to, know yourself deeply with the Become Your Best Version workbook, find your trapped emotions and do a few of the 22 life experiences that will make you meet your soul.
It’s also extremely used to plan your fears like explaining in the premeditation of evils by Tim Ferriss. List down your top fears you have now stopping you from growing to your best self. Start the sentence with What if I… lose my parents, quit my job, leave my relationship, miss my public speaking gig, jump from a plane, do Ayahuasca, travel the world for 1 year, quit college, start a business, don’t pay my debt, etc.
Go in-depth watching this video “Why you should define your fears instead of your goals | Tim Ferriss TedTalk”
Here’s the technique in details:
— DEFINE
What if I…(list your fear happening)
Really ask yourself why are you feeling that way to arrive at the bottom core.
Write 10 worst things that would happen.
— PREVENT
How can you prevent these episodes? Or decrease the likelihood of them happening?
— REPAIR
Repair. What could I do to repair the damage if my fear happen? Is anyone else in the history of time has figured this out? What would be the benefits of an attempt or partial success? What are the possible good outcomes if you take action?
— COST OF INACTION
If I avoid these actions, what would my life look like?
(Emotionally, physically, financially, etc.)

“The fears we don’t face becomes our limits”
- Robin Sharma
We have six basic fears that combine them all. You can go in-depth in the masterpiece book Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill which is commonly known to be the source of 90% of all modern self-development books today and also stated has the number one book that influences the lives of 80% of the guest of Tim Ferriss Podcast.
Named in the order of their most common appearance, which the first three is at the bottom of one’s worries:
- Fear of poverty
(symptoms: indifference, indecision, doubt, worry, over-caution, procrastination, refusal to accept responsibility when it can be avoided) - Fear of criticism
(symptoms: self-consciousness through nervousness and timidity of conversation, lack of poise, personality, inferiority complex, extravagance, lack of initiative, lack of ambition) - Fear of ill health
(symptoms: negative autosuggestion, hypochondria, proper physical exercise, susceptibility, self-coddling, intemperance ) - Fear of loss of love of someone
(symptoms: jealousy, fault finding, gambling) - Fear of old age
(symptoms: tendency to slow down and develop an inferiority complex, the habit of speaking apologetically of one’s self as “being old”, the habit of killing off initiative, imagination and self-reliance) - Fear of death
(symptoms: thinking about dying instead of making the most of life, generally, to lack of purpose, or lack of suitable occupation)
Here’s some of self analysis test questions that can help you identify consciously hidden fears:
- Do you deliberately avoid the association of anyone, and if so, why?
- Are you envious of those who excel you?
- Who has the most inspiring influence upon you? What is the cause?
- Do you form your own opinions or permit yourself to be influenced by other people?
- Do you have a definite major purpose, and if so, what is it and what plan have you for achieving it?
- Do you rely on liquor, narcotics, or cigarettes to “quiet your nerves?”
In Traditional Chinese Medicine 5 main emotion gets block in 5 yin-organs. Joy in the heart grief or anxiety in the lungs, pensiveness in the spleen, anger in the liver and Fear or fright in the kidneys. Linked emotions to fears blockage are weak willpower, insecure, aloof (detached, antisocial, introverted), isolated (minimal contacts with others). Physical symptoms are lower back pain, dry mouth, premature grey hair, premature ejaculation, nocturnal emission, etc. All your deepest fears unmanaged as a kid literally got stuck into your kidneys, all that energy blockage is ripping off tissues on the long run leading to potential deep disease or cancer as you grow old.
The most common way to release that qi (vital energy) is acupuncture and herbs like Rehmannia, lycii and Schisandra. Also eating certain foods help the kidney like kidney beans, black sesame seeds, walnuts, protein, asparagus, egg, sweet potato, seaweed string beans, celery, parsley, grapes, plums, berries, sea salt.
Emotions energy blockage are at the core of every disease. Don’t wait that you are 40–50 years old to get heavily damaged. Heal yourself now starting your spiritual journey, trying holistic alternative medicine and meditating daily. Watch the new Netflix documentary Heal to start your journey.
